ELLISON GROUP (Cincinnati, OH) 1995-2002
A $25 million dollar organization comprised of three businesses: Accelerated Technologies, Inc., a rapid prototyping service bureau; Ellison Surface Technologies, Inc., a thermal spray coating applicator; and Ellison Custom Coatings, an applicator of dry-film coatings.

Marketing Manager
Responsible for the development of marketing strategy to support corporate goals; design, deployment and measurement of campaigns; and development of marketing communications materials.

  • Exceeded industry performance in both sales and market share growth through the development of marketing strategies, differentiating messages, and awareness and lead generation campaigns.
  • Conceived, designed and implemented a campaign to rejuvenate lost customers. In 18 months, the campaign generated $900,000 and recovered 91 accounts.
  • Raised awareness and positioned the company as a leader in the industry through public speaking and published articles. In 2001, more than seven presentations delivered and 12 articles published. Since January 2001, have written "Perspectives," an editorial feature of Time-Compression Technologies.
  • Served as industry advisor for both Time-Compression Technologies and Society of Manufacturing Engineers' Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing Conference. Participation increased company exposure and offered insight to new developments within the industry.
  • Authored and edited chapters of Wohlers Report, a highly regarded publication produced by the leading industry consultant. Contributions began in 1999 and will continue into the future.
  • Designed, developed, deployed and maintained a 185 page web site that is regarded as the best in the industry. Constructed for $2,000, the site produces over 5000 visitors and $40,000 each month.
  • Secured 250 new clients, with average annual revenues of $4,200, in each of the past three years.
  • Earned performance bonuses in each of the past seven years. In 2001, was one of only five employees who received a performance bonus.

Manager, Cincinnati Operations
Responsible for general management of a 25 employee facility. Accountable for profitability of the Cincinnati operations and the performance of all functional departments.

  • Delivered a 24% increase in output, while improving morale, through effective management of organizational and operational transition.
  • Eliminated internal conflict between the Austin and Cincinnati facilities to create a single team.
  • Trained and mentored sales people, including a top performer that had no previous sales experience.

A $2 million dollar company specializing in rapid prototyping services.

Responsible for all sales and marketing efforts for both the direct and representative sales channels.

  • Increased sales by 300% through direct sales and the development of a representative sales channel.
  • Designed and wrote copy for new sales literature that customers and representatives regarded highly.
  • Realized the need for, and then developed, a relational database to support accounting, operations, sales and marketing.

AUTOMATIC DATA PROCESSING (Bloomfield, NJ) 1988-1990
A 100 employee division of ADP (then approximately $3B) offering Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) software solutions.

Sold software solutions to discrete manufacturers in New York and New Jersey.

A 250 employee division of MDC (then approximately $10B) that developed and sold Unigraphics, a CAD/CAM software package.
